Orientation

Live with the belief that life can be easy to enjoy and thrive in.

Understand that it is often our own mental fallacies and misallocations of energy that get in our way.

Every moment offers the gift of choice. Each action shifts you onto a trajectory. Not choosing is also a choice.

Physiology

Resets: Exercise, cold shower, sauna, shift of attention, change of environment, nature, conversation

Sleep as early as you can. Try to fast an hour prior

Attention

Attention is your most valuable resource. Whatever receives it shapes your reality. Guard it like your life depends on it.

Notice your emotional state as feedback about what you are giving importance to. Reassign importance deliberately and watch emotion shift.

Be aware of where attention is flowing. If you are not satisfied with its allocation, readjust, even if the context switch is uncomfortable.

If you hold guilt, you tell the world you deserve punishment. If you hold joy and gratitude, you tell the world you deserve abundance.

Work

Deep work starts with one objective, then continuously protecting attention from context switching.

The inevitable drift will require reorientation. This comes with noticing misalignment, recalling priorities, and returning to the next most meaningful action. It often requires an earnest, uncomfortable shift in attention.

Environment

Each environment demands its own way of thinking and acting. Environments collapse possibility space either in your favor or against it. Being in alignment is your own responsibility.

Create regular contexts with no external input. No phone, no feed, no incoming noise, only thought and maybe a notebook.

Visit reflective spaces regularly. For some people this is nature. For others it is a religious space. The function is to step out of reactive loops and return to the bigger picture.

Mobility

At any given inhabited location know the nearest gym, grocery store, hospital, workspace, running path, train station, bus routes, and bike-share.

Perspective

Your past moment does not dictate your future. No matter how rough things feel, you can reset and realign.

You likely have more capacity than you think. Compared to true exhaustion, most days begin in relative comfort.

The noise in your own head is often the primary obstacle. Delete mental fallacies and get excited.

Human cognition overweights problems. Opportunities are often more abundant than problems.

Housekeeping

Exercise and motion of the body

Learn something external so your mind stays oriented to the world through language, geography, history, or another outward lens.

Check your financial position so choices stay grounded in reality.

Include gratitude and perspective to return attention to what matters.

Maxims

Tomorrow starts today.

Internal resistance is often a signal that something is worth doing.

Treat life with respect, time with reverence, and space with dignity.

A marginal increase in confidence that something is possible can change the trajectory of your life.

May you truly know what you want, have the courage to go after it, and the patience to see it through.
